Photographing jewelry, much like the design and fabrication of fine jewelry itself cannot be learned from any book. It is a developed skill based upon years of experience, an inherent eye for design and the ability to see and understand light and dark, color, reflections, subtle shapes and textures. I have devoted the past 25+ years to developing these skills and they have become a part of me. Given these abilities along with today's highly advanced digital techniques, the ability to capture the differences between 18k and 24k gold, the myriad of colors in opals and the subtle and numerous textures present in jewelry are now able to be captured in a manner never before possible.
